I spent the summer of 2017 riding 500 miles through the Rocky Mountains with my partner Rich and three horses called Pinto, Pepper and Numero. Week five had been a breeze – we’d made it to Little Molas Lake so far ahead of schedule that we could take an extra rest day, and plan for a slow and relaxing final week absorbing the view and enjoying the company of the horses.
