Book events
I’ve appeared at a number of evening events at bookshops and libraries across the UK, taken part in Book Week celebrations, and participated in book festivals including Wigtown, Aye Write! and the Edinburgh and Canberra International Book Festivals where I gave readings and spoke in panel discussions. I’d be very happy to chair literary events too, if that’s of use to you.

Workshops and school events
I have led writing workshops for teenagers and adults, including a residential masterclass in creative non-fiction at Gladstone’s Library in Wales, and school classes focused on building higher and advanced higher English writing portfolios. I love working with enthusiastic pupils and aspiring authors aged 16+.

Television and radio
I have some experience of speaking for broadcast media. I’ve appeared as a guest on Radio 4’s Midweek, BBC World Service’s Outlook, Radio Scotland’s Janice Forsyth Show and Out for the Weekend, and ABC’s Life Matters; I have less experience on television, but was an occasional contributor to the BBC review show Scotland 2016.

If you have an event or programme you’d like me to contribute to, get in touch.
