What We're Reading

1. Data vis: Murder in NYC

2. Ouch. "Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology."

3.  "Listeners to a national radio station were shocked to learn that the
normally peaceful county of North Yorkshire had launched a programme of
illegal underground nuclear tests.

4. This is one of the prettiest things I have seen in a long time.

5. Small selection of health and safety gone mad miscellany: clown shoes banned, goggles to be worn during Blu-Tac use, clip-on ties adopted to reduce risk of strangulation, grandmother banned from dishwashing, schools 'too safe' claim teachers – harming children's development.
